2009 CAMPAIGN AWARDS/RECOGNITION

 

United Way Fox Cities recognizes the following companies and their employees for their combined giving of $1,000 or more to the 2009 community campaign.

LEADERSHIP GIVING

This award is given to a company that runs a campaign with a focus on leadership giving - those gifts of $1,000 or more.  Leadership campaigns are a great strategy for increasing employee giving and promoting internal leadership within the workplace.

Alta Resources has been an outstanding United Way Fox Cities supporter in every possible aspect.

Under the leadership of CEO, Jim Bere, and his assistant, Teri Koski, Alta Resources ran a very successful workplace leadership campaign doubling the number of leadership givers, resulting in a 98% increase in leadership giving dollars.  They also increased their number of Emerging Leaders members from 2 to 13.

   
    

CORPORATE CHALLENGE

In an effort to encourage more companies to increase their support of United Way, Kimberly-Clark Corporation created two traveling awards that recognize other companies that conduct outstanding campaigns.  The goal is to create energy and excitement around fundraising efforts, as well as to increase employee participation and raise more resources to invest in the community we all call home.

   
    

GREATEST INCREASE IN EMPLOYEE PARTICIPATION

This award is presented to the company with the greatest increase in employee participation, having a minimum of 100 employees, and at least 25% employee giving.

Community First Credit Union ended their campaign with a 17% increase in employee giving under the leadership of Joanie Johnson and Rick Sense.  In addition to increasing participation, Joanie and Rick ran an extraordinary campaign with a leadership component resulting in a 24% increase in overall giving.

   
    

GREATEST INCREASE IN EMPLOYEE GIVING

This Corporate Challenge award is presented to the company having the greatest percentage increase in employee giving with a minimum $20,000 raised the previous year.

Bergstrom Automotive achieved a 37% increase in employee giving, under the leadership of Employee Campaign Manager Liesl Britzke and her team.  Liesl provided leadership and guidance throughout all Bergstrom Automotive locations resulting in a remarkable increase in employee giving.  Bergstrom Automotive also ran a workplace leadership camaign and grew the number of Emerging Leaders members from 1 to 10.

   
    

EMPLOYEE CAMPAIGN MANAGER / TEAM OF THE YEAR

Employee Campaign Managers and internal committee members are instrumental in planning and implementing their workplace campaign and communicating the United Way message to fellow employees.  This award provides a chance to recognize individuals and/or teams who displayed exemplary leadership, creativity and enthusiasm.

SMALL ORGANIZATION (less than 150 employees)

First National Bank - Fox Cities' Theresa Schouten led the initiative this year and achieved outstanding results.

Participation rose to 91% with a 100% increase in their average gift.  We applaud the team at First National Bank for their tremendous results and dedicated support of Untied Way.

   
    

MEDIUM ORGANIZATION (between 151-499 employees)

Since Festival Food's arrival in the Fox Cities, the teams at the two stores, with Laura Kox at the helm, have run remarkable United Way campaigns with 94% of their associates participating in the campaign.  Their commitment to the work of United Way makes them a leader in the United Way campaign as well as in the community.

   
    

LARGE ORGANIZATION (greater than 500 employees)

Alta Resources achieved a 22% increase in overall giving under Teri Koski's leadership and dedication.  They implemented all of the recommended campaign best practices and her personal commitment and dedication ensued.  (See photo above as winner of Leadership Giving award.)
