Fox Cities Diaper Bank

Mission:  Raise the community's awareness of the need for diapers to assist low income families in meeting their diaper needs.

The groundbreaking Every Little Bottom Study, commissioned by Kimberly-Clark's Huggies® Brand reveals diaper need is a critical issue in the United States. Research conducted by Huggies has identified the growing need for diapers among low income families.  United Way Fox Cities is helping to facilitate the creation of the Fox Cities Diaper Bank through collaboration with community partners and Kimberly-Clark's Every Little Bottom campaign.

The Diaper Need

Access to a sufficient supply of diapers is essential for the health of our Fox Cities infants, but too many people do not have the resources to adequately provide for this basic need.

·         A healthy change of diapers costs $100.00/month or more – for all ages. An infant uses up to 12 diapers a day, a toddler up to 8 per day. In low income households a baby may be in a single diaper all day, increasing the risk of health problems, from skin disease to hepatitis.

·         Safety Net programs do not cover diapers – not Food Stamps, not WIC, not Medicare.

·         In the Fox Cities our local community pantries are unable to maintain an adequate supply of diapers due to the increasing demand.

·         Most people living in poverty do not have affordable access to washing facilities. Most coin-operated laundromats do not allow customers to wash cloth diapers for health and sanitary reasons.
