From: Your Friends at United Way Fox Cities
The truth is, change doesn’t happen alone. When you give, advocate, or volunteer, you are a part of the good work happening in our community. Please join us for the United Way Fox Cities 2016 Annual Report to the Community to hear about the difference you are making in people’s lives. Everyone is welcome – whether you are involved now or are interested in learning more about United Way Fox Cities.
Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 7:30 – 9:00 a.m.
Radisson Paper Valley Hotel, Downtown Appleton
$18 per person or $180 for a table of 10
At the event, keynote speakers Joe Mauthe, executive director of the Housing Partnership of the Fox Cities, and Jerome Martin, executive director of Homeless Connections, will highlight the challenges families in the Fox Cities face around housing. You may not see or experience homelessness in your daily routine, but it is a reality for more than 300 people in the Fox Cities. Homelessness can be hidden; families sometimes couch-surf with relatives or friends, sleep in vehicles, or camp out in storage facilities. In addition, many families are one layoff, medical diagnosis, or car repair away from spiraling into crisis.
The Housing Partnership and Homeless Connections, along with a complex network of nonprofits, government organizations, businesses, and other community partners, are working to get families stably housed. United Way is a part of this work, from funding programs to convening community partners to being a voice at the table advocating for solutions.
The need is big, but every day families in the Fox Cities are finding help, hope, and healing because of people like you. United we win.
