How can I contact 2-1-1?

There are four ways to contact 2-1-1.

These options are available 24/7:

  1. Dial 2-1-1 (or 1-800-924-5514) on your cell phone or landline telephone. TTY dial 7-1-1.
  2. Search the 2-1-1 online directory at www.211now.org

These options are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.:

  1. Text your ZIP Code to 898211 to start a conversation with 2-1-1.
  2. Chat online with a certified 2-1-1 specialist.

Call 2-1-1

2-1-1 can be accessed by phone by dialing 2-1-1 (or 800-924-5514). A toll free call to 2-1-1 connects you to a local community resource specialist who can put you in touch with organizations that provide critical services.

Dial 2-1-1 for help with:

  1. Shelter/ housing options and utilities assistance
  2. Food and nutrition programs
  3. Clothing and other essential needs
  4. Employment
  5. Mental health counseling
  6. Health care
  7. Support groups
  8. Legal Aid
  9. Veteran/Military services
  10. Emergency information and disaster relief

You can also visit the United Way 2-1-1 Online Resource Directory at www.211now.org. To find resources serving Calumet, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Manitowoc, Marquette, Outagamie, Sheboygan, Waushara, Waupaca and Winnebago County residents, enter information about the person needing the service.

Because we are a service for the community, our printed materials are made available for public distribution. To request a copy of any of these publications, please contact 2-1-1 directly by dialing 2-1-1 (or 800-924-5514).

  • 2-1-1 Bookmarks: 2-1-1 bookmarks are made available in English, Spanish and Hmong. (Free)

  • Help for Hard Times: This booklet has been prepared to guide unemployed people to the services that can best help them, whatever their particular needs may be. (Free)
