Did you know that the LIFE Study revealed that access to mental
health services is one of the leading issues in the Fox Cities? 40%
of Fox Cities' residents experienced stress or depression within
the last 30 days and 15% reported being unable to obtain the mental
health services that they needed. Mental health is as important as
physical health, but many times the issues surrounding mental
health are ignored. The good news is, our community has decided to
do something about it:
When Kaukauna Area School District Superintendent Mark Duewaechter
approached the N.E.W. Mental Health Connection and asked if anyone
would be interested in a community conversation to bring awareness
to mental health, instantly several organizations signed up to be
on the planning committee, including United Way Fox Cities. As a
result, "Let's Talk About It" is coming to the Fox Valley! "Let's
Talk About It" is an event that focuses on the importance of mental
health in our lives. The event consists of a resource fair, a
nationally renowned keynote speaker, both adult and youth panel
discussions and FREE food! The event is free and
open-to-the-public. It will take place at River View School in
Kaukauna on April 30th with the resource fair beginning at 5:30
p.m. followed by the keynote speaker at 6:30 p.m.

awareness and understanding of mental health and break down the
stigma. Mental health affects us all and we all are a part of
making this a mentally healthy community." Learn more about the event
