2013 Daniel P. Spalding, Volunteer Educator Award; Merry Whipple & Rainy
Contributor: Nanci Micke, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at United Way Fox Cities
I think that this is a very special
place to live. I have had the opportunity to live in New York,
Ohio, North Carolina, and Georgia. When my family had the option to
move back to Wisconsin, we felt it was a great place to come home
The people who live here are the reason. This is a giving community and it is reflected in our wonderful volunteers. The annual Celebrate Our Volunteers event will be held on April 16th at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel. Eight local volunteers/organizations will be honored for their contributions to community service, health care, youth leadership, mentoring, business/nonprofit partnership and collaboration, the arts and education.
This year's recipients are:
- Aerotek & St. Joseph Food Program; Business Partnership of the Year Award
- Candice Zehner; Youth Scholarship Award
- John Bergstrom; Janet Berry Volunteer of the Year Award
- David Bond; Health Care Volunteer Award
- Roger Bertschausen; Walter L. Rugland Community Service Award
- Jim Heiks; Hanns Kretzschmar Award for Excellence in the Arts
- Lesanne Bohannon & Cindy Buchta; Daniel P. Spalding Volunteer Educator Award
- Sue Kinde; Paul & Elaine Groth Mentoring Award
This is a memorable night. You will be impressed, inspired, and generally wowed by the stories of this year's recipients, artfully told through videos produced by Image Studios.
