United Way Fox Cities EXPERIENCE!

When people ask me where I work, I am
always proud to reply, "United Way Fox Cities." But, the
conversation can get a little weird from there. Sometimes people
think I work for an airline. Others just smile and nod with a
questioning look. I don't blame them; before I applied for my
position, I didn't have a very clear picture of United Way's role
in the community. If you are in the same boat, or even if you are a
veteran supporter of United Way, we invite you to join us for
United Way EXPERIENCE! to learn more about our work and answer
those nagging questions, "What does United Way do?" and, "Where
does my money go?"
Through United Way EXPERIENCE!, you will have the opportunity to
learn first-hand about our work by visiting United Way-supported
programs. When you invest in United Way Fox Cities, your money
supports over 100 programs at local partner agencies, initiatives,
grants and collaborations. To give you a taste of how your money is
invested in our community, a limited number of tours are offered
throughout the year starting June 17th. You can attend the
experiences as an individual, with friends or family, or coordinate
a work event.
During each United Way EXPERIENCE!, you can speak with staff from
United Way Fox Cities and hear from community experts working
within organizations throughout the Fox Cities. The first tour will
take place at the Boys and Girls Club of Menasha, a brand new
facility that will help a growing number of low-income children and
youth thrive and succeed. Through United Way, $150,000 was granted
to support the first four years of programming costs for the Boys
& Girls Club in Menasha. And this tour is just the
beginning - view the full schedule and sign up
today!
Also, new this year, we have added volunteer opportunities to the
United Way EXPERIENCE! schedule, including the YMCA's Bret Younger
10k and 5k Run/Walk on June 11th and the Point in Time Count
coordinated by Homeless Connections on July 29th. These are
wonderful opportunities to get involved in hands-on work to help
United Way-supported partner agencies.
We hope to see you at one (or all!) of the tours as we explore how
your gift impacts 1 in 3 people in the Fox Cities!
