We particularly appreciated these inspiring words from Maren Peterson Executive Director at NAMI Fox Valley, one of our partners in fostering a community of mentally healthy children, youth, and adults. We echo her sentiments:

I truly love attending the United Way Fox Cities campaign closing reception. This is a bit weird, I know, but it is something I really look forward to each winter.

Mostly, it is so inspiring to celebrate the incredible generosity of our community. I mean, really: the campaign raised $8.75 million this year. That money is going to help fund 100 nonprofit programs in the Fox Cities over the next year. Our level of giving, per capita, puts the Fox Cities in the top 5% in the COUNTRY for support of our United Way. It takes my breath away. Here’s to anyone reading this who contributes to their workplace United Way campaign — and I know that’s a lot of you: you are heroes.

But, also, the reception is just so much fun. An hour and a half of celebrating with so many colleagues who are rarely in the same room together for something other than work cultivates real connection and joy in a unique way.

Good stuff, my friends. Good stuff.
