United Way Fox Cities is excited to introduce a new affinity group: Forever United Network.
At the heart of Forever United Network is the idea that solving community issues takes place throughout a lifetime, going beyond the scope of support from the workplace. It’s a way to be part of United Way’s work and improve lives in our community by living here, caring here and giving here – throughout your lifetime.
Forever United Network began with conversations about engaging retirees, and soon encompassed those who change career paths, move to another company, or set out on their own. It’s a way for people to stay connected to United Way and continue to build a strong, caring community for everyone.
On Tuesday July 9, United Way hosted its inaugural Forever United Network event, sponsored by Galloway Company. Attendees learned about Forever United Network from committee leaders Liz Neumann, Dean Gruner and Tim Higgins. Attendees left uplifted after Nicole Desten, executive director of Bridges Child Enrichment Center, shared information about a United Way-funded program that teaches mindfulness, social skills and emotional regulation through a kindness curriculum.
Do you want to get involved? It’s easy! First, donors share non-work contact information so that they can stay connected to United Way outside of the workplace. Second, when giving this year, choose to be a part of Forever United Network on this year’s pledge form. And lastly, make a gift, in any amount, every year. Forever United Network members can support United Way Fox Cities with their annual gift as well as a forever gift to one of United Way Fox Cities’ endowed funds.
Look for more news about Forever United Network online and during this year’s campaign, and join the FUN at the Forever United Network tables at our Community Campaign Kickoff event on August 28.
