United Way Fox Cities Kicks Off 2019 Community Campaign
Thursday, August 29, 2019
A record crowd of 300 excited and energized United Way supporters gathered on the grounds of Miron Construction to officially mark the beginning of the 2019 United Way Community Campaign. This year’s goal is to raise $9 million dollars to continue to positively impact the Fox Cities. In 2018, the dollars raised impacted 1 in 3 people in the community by diapering over 900 babies per month, assisting over 12,000 children and adults in finding hope through mental health services, inspiring children to read by getting 81,000 books into their hands, and so much more.
The Campaign Kickoff was both entertaining and inspiring! Campaign Co-Chairs Jim Kotek, Menasha Corporation, and Kim Underhill, Kimberly-Clark, and Leadership Giving Chair Dave Voss, Miron Construction, inspired the crowd to build a stronger, more caring community for everyone. Attendees were then brought to their feet with the toe-tapping sounds of Deuces Wild Dueling Pianos.
The kickoff event also launched the Donations for Diapers campaign, which will culminate with National Diaper Need Awareness Week, September 23-29, 2019. Kickoff attendees donated over 4,800 diapers to United Way’s Fox Cities Diaper Bank to keep babies clean, healthy, and dry. A sincere thanks to Kimberly-Clark who is generously matching the donated diapers, as well as Miron Construction and Menasha Corporation for their support of the drive.
We also want to extend our thanks to Image Studios for United Way’s 2019 Campaign video called United We Care and to Bergstrom Automotive for the 2019 sweepstakes car and kayak package.
