In sports, champions are defined as winners or a person who has defeated all opponents in competition. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines the word as, “a person who fights or speaks for another person or in favor of a cause.”
United Way Fox Cities defines a Champion as the priceless liaison and key connection to local workplaces who fosters immeasurable support for the success of our community campaign.
United Way’s Breakfast of Champions was held this week to thank those who coordinated workplace campaigns in 2019. Representatives from over 20 companies started their day with breakfast and conversation as a ‘thank you’ for their incredible support in 2019.
United Way Champions are individuals, teams, or committees that organize and execute a company’s workplace campaign. But more importantly, they are passionate advocates that lead others in support of United Way’s mission of building a stronger, more caring community for everyone.
In 2019, United Way Champions’ efforts contributed to raising the funds necessary to support 100 partners, grants, and initiatives in our community. Their dedicated leadership in the workplace was instrumental in positively impacting 1 in 3 people in the Fox Cities. Thank you!
