COVID-19 Community Response Fund Is Ready To Take Donations
Wednesday, March 18, 2020
Dear Friend of United Way,
First, let me say, I sincerely hope each and every one of you is well—both physically and mentally—and taking care to stay well during this challenging time.
I am writing today to invite you to make a special gift that will support nonprofit organizations meeting the basic needs of those most impacted by COVID-19.
United Way Fox Cities has partnered with the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region to establish a COVID-19 Community Response Fund. This action aligns with our mission to create a stronger, more caring community for everyone. Our intent is that the fund does just that—ensures the community is still able to care for everyone during this pandemic.
- If you are interested in learning more about the fund, please visit our website.
- To make a donation online, visit cffoxvalley.org/covidhelp. Checks can be made payable to the Community Foundation/COVID-19 and mailed to Community Foundation, 4455 W. Lawrence St., Appleton, WI 54914.
The need will be great, but our response can be greater. Take heart; we live in an incredibly generous community. In the past several days, our office has been taking the lead to coordinate efforts—we have been in contact with individuals, organizations, and corporations all banding together to support those most vulnerable to the impacts of this crisis.
After announcing the creation of the fund yesterday, the community responded. United Way and the Community Foundation established the fund with $50,000 each. Kimberly-Clark made an early leadership gift at the same level, and many others have stepped up very generously as well. Updated donor recognition will be made available on our website in the coming week. We are all being impacted by this situation, but please know that those who will benefit most directly from the fund are very grateful.
Although we have been advised to keep our social distance, we continue to LIVE UNITED.
Sincerely,
Peter C. Kelly
President and CEO
